Since 2013, the Government has provided additional funding to primary schools to improve the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport. This funding, known as the PE and Sport Premium, is provided jointly by the Department for Education, the Department of Health, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The funding is ring-fenced and therefore must be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport offered within school. At Watermore, we are committed to using the PE and Sport Premium to:
-
Develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport that we provide for our pupils.
-
Build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.
Further details of how we use this funding, the impact it has on pupils, and how we ensure sustainability can be found in our annual PE and Sport Premium report.
