Watermore Primary School

History

The History curriculum at Watermore Primary School is organised in chronological order to allow children to develop a coherent narrative of the past. This enables children to gain a strong understanding of the history of Britain and the wider world and to think how events and people in the past continue to influence our lives today. In each unit, children are given the opportunity to think critically, question evidence and its reliability, develop perspectives and develop their identity in the world we live in today. In Year 6, children apply their knowledge of the key concepts to two unique projects that focus on slavery in the local area and crime and punishment beyond 1066.
