Music
At Watermore Primary School we aim to give all children the opportunity to become a Musician and to learn to understand and appreciate a wide variety of music. We follow the “Kapow Primary” scheme for music. We have specifically selected this scheme because it develops skills, knowledge and vocabulary in a cyclical way, revisiting what has previously taught. Each time a skill or area of knowledge is revisited it is covered with greater depth. It also provides a diverse variety of music from different cultures and traditions as well as from different musical genres and time periods. We are also fortunate to be able to provide our children with a range of different experiences such as whole class instrumental lessons, vocal coaching and live music, much of which receives funding from our generous PTFA. Finally, we supplement our music curriculum with opportunities for children to perform to others through the variety of productions and performances the children take part in.
