Watermore 10K & Rainbow Run Sept 2015

This event was huge a success:

  • 250 people ran the 10k
  • Lots of children took part in the rainbow run
  • The amount raised by this event was the biggest single amount yet – we raised just over £4k
  • We had 46 marshals on the day, and numerous people helping out at the school- we would like to say a massive thank you to all of them as without them this amazing event would be not as successful

Since January 2011, PTFA funds have been used to finance:

  • Climbing Walls
  • 14 iPads [10 x iPad 2, 4 x iPad 4]
  • Visitors for KS1 classes from Bristol Zoo
  • Speakers, microphones & lighting (whole sound system needs replacing)
  • Large marquee
  • Books for the libraries on both sites
  • Hand wash trolley with soap & towel dispenser for outdoor learning
  • 2 scooter parks;
  • Playground equipment for both school sites (chosen by the Pupil Council);
  • Football- & Netball kits;
  • Gardening material and equipment for both sites;
  • Road safety equipment;
  • Library Books for both sites;
  • Digital cameras;
  • A new Gazebo to be used at events;
  • Skipping competition medals;
  • Diamond Jubilee coins presented to all pupils and staff;
  • Wooden kitchen with pans and wok for Reception class;
  • Cooker for KS2 site to go into one of the portacabins for the Juniors to use for cooking classes;
  • £100 for each of the seven classrooms to provide cushions/drapes/seating for the reading areas to make them more comfortable and attractive;
  • Dictionaries for the year 6 students as leaving presents - annually;
  • School Christmas Party 'things' for all classes;
  • Class specific workshops:
    • Reception - Pirates
    • Year 1 - Animals
    • Year 2 - Space technology
    • Year 3 - Ancient Egypt
    • Year 4 - Science
    • Year 5 - Lego robotics computer control
    • Year 6 - Science
  • Visiting author and workshop for book week (First week in March);
  • Radio microphones;
  • Christmas presents to KS1 children;
  • Cheer leading after school club KS2;
  • Running after school club KS2;
  • Musical instruments.
